Solkadhi is a refreshing coastal drink from the Konkan region, known for its cooling and digestive properties. Made with kokum rind infused in warm water and blended with coconut milk, this drink has a beautiful balance of tangy and creamy flavours. Lightly spiced with cumin, chaat masala, green chillies, and fresh coriander, Solkadhi is soothing yet flavourful. Served well chilled, it’s the perfect accompaniment to spicy meals or a revitalising drink on warm days, offering comfort and freshness in every sip.
Ingredients

2 tsp Kokum Rind Powder

400ml Hot Water

1⁄2 tsp Chaat Masala

1⁄2 tsp Cumin Powder

1 tsp Green Chillies (chopped)

2-3 tsp Coriander (chopped)

250ml Coconut Milk
Directions
In a bowl, add hot water to the Kokum Rind powder, and mix well.
Sprinkle in the masala powders, green chillies, and coriander, and whisk again till well combined.
Once the mixture has cooled down to room temperature, pour in the coconut milk, and whisk again.
Allow the Solkadhi to chill for 1-2 hours, before serving.
Pour the chilled Solkadhi into glasses, garnish with some more chopped coriander and enjoy!
