Banana Matcha Latte is a creamy and refreshing drink that combines the natural sweetness of ripe bananas with the earthy, vibrant flavour of ceremonial-grade matcha. Smooth banana cream is blended with coconut milk, sugar, and a hint of cinnamon, creating a rich and aromatic base. Served over ice with a touch of extra virgin olive oil, the banana mixture is layered with freshly whisked matcha for a striking presentation and balanced taste. Finished with another layer of banana cream and an optional dusting of matcha, this unique latte is perfect for a refreshing morning drink, afternoon pick-me-up, or a delicious twist on a classic matcha beverage.

Banana Matcha Latte

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced

  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)

  • ½ teaspoon ground Cinnamon

  • 1 packet Coconut milk

  • Ice cubes

  • 1 tablespoon extra Virgin olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons ceremonial grade Matcha powder

  • ¼ cup warm water (not boiling)

  • Extra matcha powder, for dusting (optional)

    1. In a blender jar, combine the sliced bananas, sugar, ground cinnamon, and coconut milk.

    2. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Set aside.

    1. Add a desired amount of ice cubes to a serving glass.

    2. Pour 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil over the ice.

    3. Carefully pour a portion of the prepared banana cream over the olive oil and ice, leaving space for the matcha and an additional layer of cream.

    1. In a small bowl, add 2 teaspoons of ceremonial matcha powder.

    2. Pour ¼ cup of warm water over the matcha.

    3. Whisk vigorously in a "W" or "M" motion until the matcha is fully dissolved and there are no clumps, and a fine foam forms on top.

    1. Gently pour the prepared matcha over the banana cream in the serving glass.

    2. Top the matcha layer with some more of the remaining banana cream.
