Japchae is the ultimate Korean stir-fried or one pot noodle dish that brings together chewy glass noodles made from sweet potato and a medley of stir-fried vegetables. Coated in a savory soy-sesame glaze, every bite is packed with umami goodness and just the right balance of sweetness and savoury. Whether you’re twirling it on a fork or scooping it up with chopsticks, japchae makes any meal feel like a flavorful celebration. Perfect for weeknight dinners or festive gatherings, it’s a dish that’s as fun to make as it is to eat!
Ingredients

1 Chopped Carrots

½ Chopped Bell Peppers (yellow and red)

Wakame (Wakame is a nutrient-rich edible seaweed commonly used in Japanese cuisine, known for its subtly sweet flavor and tender texture, often featured in soups, salads, and sushi).

1 medium chopped onion

Smoked Tofu

Sesame Seeds

One tbsp oil

Coconut Aminos

Maple Syrup

Sweet Potato Noodles

Toasted Sesame Oil
Directions
- 1.Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
2. Add chopped garlic, onion and sauté for 2-3 mins
3. Add chopped Carrots, Bell Peppers, Wakame, Tofu and sauté.
4. Add 2 tbsp of coconut aminos. This gives a boost of umami flavour.
5. One tbsp of maple syrup or any sweetener of your choice.
6. Add One tbsp of toasted sesame oil, salt and pepper.
7. Take Urban Platter Sweet Potato noodles and add to boiling Water.
8. Once the noodles are soft and tender, drain the noodles and rinse.
9. In a bowl add the vegetables and noodles, some toasted sesame and give it a nice mix. Transfer it to the serving bowl and enjoy!
