Kache Kelyache Kaap is a traditional coastal-style snack that celebrates bold Malvani flavours and crisp textures. Thin slices of raw banana are coated in a tangy, spicy paste made with tamarind, ginger-garlic, turmeric, lemon juice, and Urban Platter Malvani Masala. Crusted with rawa and shallow-fried until golden and crunchy, these fritters are crisp on the outside and tender inside. Finished with fresh coriander, they are best served hot with a spiced onion salad and a squeeze of lime, making them a perfect appetiser or tea-time snack.
Ingredients
-
2 pcs Raw Banana (peeled, and sliced thinly)
-
3-4 tbsp Tamarind Paste
-
1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
-
2 tbsp Urban Platter Malvani Masala
-
1⁄2 tsp Turmeric
-
1 tsp Lemon Juice.
-
200g Rawa
-
1 tsp Coriander (for garnish)
Directions
In a bowl, mix together the tamarind paste, ginger garlic paste, Urban Platter Malvani Masala, turmeric, and lemon juice, until it forms a thick paste.
Coat the thinly sliced banana well with the masala paste, and dip into the rawa.
Make sure the rawa has fully coated both sides.
Fry until golden and crispy.
Garnish with chopped coriander, and serve with spiced onion salad, and a lime wedge.
