A simple and elegant way to elevate your everyday toast, pastries, or even savory dishes. This two-ingredient recipe combines the rich creaminess of butter with the vibrant, earthy notes of ceremonial matcha.

Matcha Butter

Ingredients

  • 200 g Butter, softened to room temperature

  • 1 tablespoon Urban Platter's Ceremonial Matcha

Directions

  1. Prepare the Butter: Place the 200g block of butter in a small bowl. Using a spatula or fork, gently fold the butter back onto itself several times until it becomes slightly softened and more pliable.

  2. Sift the Matcha: Position a fine-mesh sieve directly over the softened butter. Add the tablespoon of Urban Platter's Ceremonial Matcha to the sieve and gently tap the sides to sift the powder evenly over the entire surface of the butter. Sifting is crucial to ensure a smooth, clump-free final product.

  3. Mix Until Smooth: With the matcha now resting on top, use your fork or spatula to mix the powder into the butter. Continue mixing until the matcha is fully incorporated and the butter achieves a uniform, vibrant green color and a perfectly smooth consistency.

  4. Serve or Store: Your matcha butter is now ready. It can be used immediately or transferred to an airtight container. For a classic presentation, you can shape it into a log using parchment paper. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
